 Minas Morgul is located in an upland valley at the feet of the Mountains of Shadow. It overlooked the region of Ithilien and controlled the only easily accessible pass through the mountains that led into Mordor, the pass of Cirith Ungol. Minas Morgul is home to the Nazgûl and is seat to the Witch-King.

 Núrn is a region in the southernmost part of the realm of Mordor that holds the inland Sea of Núrnen. Núrn is the only fertile land in Mordor, a semi-arid place due to its close proximity to Gorgoroth and consisted mostly of short grass landed plains, fertile enough to support farming to support the armies of Sauron.

 A vast wasteland in Mordor that holds not many secrets. Garrisons of Sauron's forces patrol the dusty plain. Gorgoroth is always covered in the volcanic ash of Mount Doom and has no plant growth at all. The plateau is arid with extreme climates and is considered to be uninhabitable by Men or perhaps by anything else that lives.

 The Black Gate is set in an impregnable black stone and iron wall that stretches from the Mountains of Ash in the north to the Mountains of Shadow in the west. The wall is 60 feet high and 250 feet long.

 Cirith Ungol is a pass through the Mountains of Shadow near Minas Morgul. Shelob's lair is located here, so travellers be warned. It is one of few ways to enter Mordor and just as perilous as the others.
