1. GENERAL QUESTIONS What are avatars and signatures and how do I get them? A: Avatars and Signatures can be found in many places, you can search for them online, budding artists can always create their own, or you can ask for an Avatar or Signature to be created for you at our Member's Market. Where can I direct lore-related questions? A: Most Admins would be happy to try and assist you with any lore-related questions, however, you can always search websites such as The Hobbit Wikia. Otherwise you can ask in our Member's Hall. What do staff do? A: Staff are responsible for the upkeep of the site, however different roles have different jobs. An Admin, for example is the lead Administrator of the site and has the most responsibility. Wordsmiths are lower members of staff who's job it is to write newsletters, keep posts updated and occasionally hold competitions. All of which would be happy to answer any questions. You can also apply for a position as a member of staff on our Recruiting page. Do you have activity checks? A: In a word, yes, we do. However if you do not post in one of these activity checks it is not the end of the world! PMing a member of staff to talk about your issues with keeping up to date is the best thing to do should you miss one! What is the Monetary System? How Do I Buy Things? A: Our Monetary system is very simple, post in IC threads and you will receive money! You can spend money in our Grand Bazaar!

2. CHARACTER CREATION
Are we allowed to use Manga/Anime characters for Face Claims? A: No. You must use a real person for your Face Claim. Manga/Anime people do not have the detail to be considered adequate Face Claims. Where do I get help with my character? A: There are lots of places you can go for help with your character, the first place is the Character Creation Handbook if this does not hold the answers you need, you can always visit the Character Creation Helpline. If you are still having trouble, feel free to PM a member of staff, they will always be willing to help you through the application process. Where do I post my application? A: You should post applications in the Waiting Room. Can I have an OC related to a Canon? A: Before creating a character like this, you must see if said Canon character is currently being RPed by somebody, if they are, you must contact and ask them first. If not the person you need to talk to is a staff member and they will advise you. How do I advertise for other members of her family? A: You can post a thread for members of family for your character, Canon or OC, in the Wanted! board, other members of the site may then be interested and contact you for more information on that relative.

3. CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
What are the Plot Pages and Trackers? Are they important? A: While not essential the Plot & Tracker pages are very useful for a RPer. You are able to keep up to date with your threads using a Trackers, and a Plot Page allows people to converse with you and hopefully lead to interesting storylines and threads for your characters! What Claims do I need to fill out? A: There are two main claims that you need to fill in before beginning your roleplaying experience, the first is the Face Claims and the second is the Who's Who claim. However there are other Claims which may catch you attention such as Occupation Claims. If however you intend to take a Canon character, before doing anything you must post in the Canon Claims to reserve a Canon which you are interested in. Who can I put up on the Wanted Board? A: You can put nearly everybody up on the Wanted board! Friends, Family, Unwanted Distant Relations, Rivals, Love interests? Canon or OC? The Wanted board is open to all of these people, however, if you are feeling stuck and don't know if you should advertise for them, please PM a member of staff and they will be happy to help! What Else Can I Do With My Character? A: Need a break from the vast world of Tolkien? The Member's Lounge is a play for players to relax and chat amongst themselves. As well as this, we have a Common Room for games to be played, some of which are IC! As well as this, you can go back in time with your characters, in each of the IC areas on the site there will be a 'Past RP' section which allows you to play in that environment in a different time period!

4. ROLEPLAY
- Do you follow a specific style for writing? A: This site's RPing style is Third Person Past Tense. Therefore no 'I', 'You' or 'We'. If you need any help with this please contact a member of staff and they will help you!
- Is there a minimum Word count? A: There is no word count for this site! While we do not have strict rules on this, however we do not approve of one-liners. We would prefer that posts have at least 100 words in order to give the other RPer something to work with.
- Where can I find online phrasebooks for the Tolkien Languages? A: There are many phrasebooks online, some not as good as others, this site works regularly with the Arwen Undomiel site.
- How do I start an RP? A: You can start an RP by posting a starter in any of the IC areas! You can plan a threads with plotters, or post an open thread for anybody to join in.
- Can I join any RP thread? A: No, not all RP threads are open for people to just jump in. Threads with 'Open' written in the title or description are open for people to join in without asking, 'Semi-Open' suggests that it is not open to everybody and you should PM the member who wrote the thread to see if you are able to join in. 'Closed' is a private thread and you should not enter it.

What else does the site have to offer other than RPing? A: This site has a lot to offer, including a specific area in which members can go to chill out with others and to debate some hot topics in the Gossip and Games board! As well as this members can share their creative talents in writing or drawing in The Feasting Hall and of course there is a chance to advertise your own site in the Advertising corner. Who can help me answer my query? A: Everybody! This site prides itself on having an active friendly community and we are sure most players would love to assist you with a query, if you prefer however you can always PM a member of staff and they will assist you. Can I get help with my Role-Play skills anywhere? A: Yes! This site has a dedicated board to assisting people with their RPing skills, you can find this in The Workshop. Where can I advertise my site? A: All Advertisement's must be done in the Advertising section of the site, if they are found elsewhere they will be deleted and we may refuse to advertise your site in the future. How can I get involved? A: The Members Lounge is the place to be for fun, debate and conversing with other members of the site, most are friendly and happy to talk to you about anything and everything and you can play games and generally enjoy!
