Erebor was difficult to get used to. It was so very different to the way that she used to live. Without rules she guessed. Moving from place to play within weeks or even days of arriving there. She had never been one to stay in one place for too long. It didn't mean that she didn't want to settle down. It was just finding the right place to do so. Erebor was what she thought to be that place. However she hadn't really thought about all of the things she had to do to settle down there, she had to learn to live their way, at some stages she felt trapped, clostraphobic as it where. But she still pushed through it like the little trooper that she was. She didn't want to fail. Not at this. She at least wanted to give it the most effort that she could. There where good things after all, better things. She knew people now. Dwarrows that didn't seem too afraid of her strange behaviours and traits. Fili was one of the Dwarrows she had grown closest too, he took her stranges in stride, even if he did like to taunt her about it sometimes. It was him that she was going to meet at this exact moment. In the spare time that she had she enjoyed his company. Finding her way about the large kingdom of the Dwarrows had gotten a little easier for her. She knew the main pathways through the great city of stone. However turned onto a smaller pathway and she would be lost in a matter of minutes. She could navigate enough for now. However she made it a goal to learn new, faster routes to areas of interest when she had the time. She came close to the area in which Fili had asked her to meet him. It was different than their usual spot but Tahlaia hadn't bothered to ask why as of yet. When she walked into the hall she very quickly pinpointed the golden haired Dwarrows and walked over to him "Fili!" She greeted with a smile. Tags: Fíli

Fili stepped back from the sweltering heat of the forge as he set the blade he had spent all morning folding to cool. He wiped the sweat from his brow as he walked over to his workbench and he laid his tools out for later use. He was far from finished, but he felt he could treat himself to a small rest now that he had completed the hardest part of the task- well, assuming that he would not have to start again if he found a mistake. This was the third blade he had crafted- and hopefully it would be the last- Fíli did not think he would have tested his patience so far if he had to start all over again from a single mistake with his current blade.
But despite his aching arms, the near scorching temperatures he was working in and the sheer repetitive nature of his work- he was glad to be in a forge again.
Since their arrival in Erebor, Fili had not managed to find much time for smithing- after all it would take well over three days of constant work for him to perfect a blade of decent and respectable quality and that was time that was not easily made when he had a busy schedule and a fussy tutor to keep him occupied. Though it was an activity that he found he missed greatly- they reminded him of the long hours he had spent in the forges of the Blue Mountains as a young apprentice under Suthri.
But today, Loni had not only excused him but had actually encouraged him to skip his duties that day so he could spend what time he needed forging his blade. After all, this was work that Fili was doing to present to the elders of Erebor for the Coming of Age ceremony. And for a future heir, it was near vital that he completed this and received the approval of the elders of the Mountain. It would be an ill-omen for his rule otherwise according to Lóni.
It was just then that he saw a familiar face at the doorway, and a bright smile lit up his face.
“Took your time getting here today.” Fili commented teasingly as she approached.
He was hot, sweaty and covered in grime from long hours of work- it was fair to say that he was not looking his best. But nevertheless, he had still offered for Tahlaia to meet him in the forges if she so wished. He had half-expected her to decline his offer of meeting in the forges, as it was possibly one of the least pleasant places for those who enjoyed the fresh, outdoor air to stay in Erebor.
“How are you today? Any luck finding a home?” He asked her.

She had been surprised to see the Dwarrow working away in the forge. She had expected him to be with his possy overlooking the running of the place not actually creating a piece of his own work. She knew of course that he was able to. It was something he had told her about when get had first met but she had no idea that he still practiced. Not with everything going on currently. She made her way toward him, smiling when he noticed that she had arrived.
He looked as though he had been working hard. Sweat on his brow and his braids a little more messy than usual. His moustache braid seemed to have been the worst to suffer from the physical activity that he had embarked on "Fancy that. The Crowned Prince actually doing some hard labour. Somebody inform the scribes to write down this momentous occasion!" She was joking of course and she knew that he would take it as well as anybody could. He had the right temperament for her sort of humor after all.
"I got lost. Again" she admits. She isn't beyond admitting that. He probably knows already from how long it took her to get here "You already knew that anyway you just wanted me to admit it. Clearly your skills at teaching map reading needs some improvement." She accuses with a laugh after finally getting close enough to look at what her first friend had been creating, she had an idea "Sword?" She asked. However was quite sure. She wasn't blind after all, nor was she dumb "So what set off this little project? Thought you'd of been busy inspecting cabbages or something un-interesting."
While she wasn't 100% at home in this place yet. It still amazed her at how all the parts of the forge worked together to create the great pieces of work she saw flow around the mountain. Goods sold and traded daily while new pieces where being created. She had even thought about having somebody teach her a few things, basic things naturally, she was still interested after all.
She rolls her eyes at his next comment "No. Well... Depends what your opinion is. I nearly walked into a home on the way here the only problem was that it wasn't mine and the dwarrowdam there was not best pleased." The story was completely true. She really did have that terrible of a sense of direction within these walls it's all the same. Stick her outside and she can lead anybody anywhere.
