So as the middle daughter of Thranduil's is up, I'm thinking that it would be nice to seek for some companions of this solitary elleth... Presumablyone male and one female! For infos on Merilien, please check out her profile here.
Idhrenion & Almarelle
Idhrenion
Bio: The name Idhrenion has the meaning of 'the wise, thoughtful boy' which may already give you an idea of the character. Idhrenion's life is... well, a bit complex. He was born among the Silvan elves of Lorien in the second age, and same as Merilien he was discovered to have special talent in scholarly fields. Although not as clever as Merilien is, Idhrenion also has the ability to wield a sword and protect himself from perils. As he grew up he found his life in the hidden realm to be boring, and at the mean time many suitors came for him for he was a splendid young elleon. Surprisingly, he found himself somehow uninterested in elven maidens, and to get himself rid of all these distresses, he sneaked away and began his journey to other elven realms in the beginning of the third age.
He first went to Rivendell, and there he met a bunch of spontaneous elven males his age. Idhrenion soon developed a close relationship with them, but there was one elf he especially cared about. In their relationships Idhrenion felt something that he was not able to explain, as he somewhat feared for it too. So he soon departed Rivendell and made his way to his last station - Mirkwood.
There, he met Merilien and was astonished by her extraordinary understanding in his fields. He was fascinated by her sight and immediately decided to bide to learn more from her. The two often spent time together in the library, discussing things together and make decisions. Idhrenion stayed in Mirkwood till present, and he was probably the only people except Almarëllë that did not mind Merilien's personality. In the mean time, that elf's face often appeared in Idhrenion's dreams, and this did trouble him. However, this had been cured after he developed a tiny crush on Merilien while her affection to him was purely academical. After spending a thousand years together, he had some intent to propose but had not done it yet due to his shyness.
Personality: Much like Merilien, Idhrenion is a bit unsociable too, but he had a more open and welcome attitude than her. He is VERY shy for an elven male and tend also to stay quiet in public. Please see Merilien's personality for more prompts on his characteristics. However, he does treat people better than Merilien and cares truly about them. Idhrenion also had the problem of shutting people out, however once he decided to like someone he would just stalk them and treat them well forever. Idhrenion was homosexual before he met Merilien. He learn from everyone and though he was not so good at dealing with conversations, he was likable for his qualities. He is around 2550ish.

Bio: Almarelle's name has the meaning of bliss and fortune. She was born in the third age on the grounds of Mirkwood, when Merilien was approximately 1300 years old. Her father accidentally died in a patrol three weeks before she was born, and soon after her birth her mother also died mysteriously, presumably because of sadness. She was given the name by her aunt who loved her so dearly as if the baby was of her own. Almarelle grew up in a cheerful environment where she had totally no idea that her aunt was not her real mother. But to everyone's surprise, she did not take hold of any ordinary elven talents.
Almarelle was a chef. She was a natural.
How often do you see an elleth three years old, walking to grab those herbs and learning their names so fast? How often do you see an elleth in her forties, cooking food and creating new recipes that feasts everyone's eyes and tongue? Indeed her talent was rare for an elf to process, but watching she excel on it, her aunt was contented by heart, feeling that her job was done. Almarelle's aunt sailed to the blessed lands, and took the secret away with her. Almarelle still thought that her aunt was her mother till present. Her light-hearted character did not took the rigorousness that was needed for a cook, and on other things as well -- she was strict and organized. Shortly afterwards, Almarelle found another talent out of herself: She had great knowledge about herbs and medical plants, as well as where to find them. Also, she was considerate and heedful enough to use them and care for people who need them. Though unable to be a healer, Almarelle's patience allows her to be a carer for the needy people. So after battles, she would look after those who had been healed that needs special care. Still she was a happy girl who enjoyed life, and makes friends with everyone she knows.
After the Queen's death, Almarelle was called on for a special, long-term task -- taking care of grumpy Merilien. Without thinking about it she accepted it, as she was sure that she was taking care of Aroreth or Gilrien or something. But who she truly met was Merilien. Almarelle was asked to cook special food for her that was good for her condition, and care for her daily when her condition was not so well. After spending some time with Merilien, Almarelle soon decided that she was deceived and asked for an exchange while she got the answer of no. She decided that it was her own mistake and tried her best to not provoke Merilien and treat her well.
Almarelle was the second person to see the good part out of Merilien's souls. After the first rough year they've been through, Merilien herself had obviously softened a bit and Almarelle was then able to realize how extraordinary and different Merilien was comparing to other elves. Then they became friends, but Merilien, as usual, resists the friendship while deep down she yearned to be friends with Almarelle. However, this somehow got mended as Idhrenion, Merilien and Almarelle always spent times together in the library. Almarelle would bring excellent food for them from the kitchen while Idhrenion and Merilien studied something she did not understand at all. Fortunately, she gained many knowledge by having Merilien explaining it to her in such a way that even a child would work it out.
Personality: You can see a lot of Almarelle's personality in her bio. She is free-spirited and light-hearted, but when she get to work she is a very strict and attentive elf who notices and takes care of every single small detail. She was thoughtful about things and is a highly-organized person and a planner. Her patience and perseverance was noteworthy. You can add on to this and extend this for quite a bit to your own likings :3
